Increasing public awareness about the importance of properly fitting saddles is critical to defeating the problem nationally. The Institute’s public awareness program is comprehensive and is comprised of the following components:
Community Speakers Bureau

Institute personnel aggressively seek out opportunities to make community presentations about the issue of proper saddle fit. This is accomplished through requests registered on the our website, being invited to speak at equine owner meetings and veterinarian symposia, attending horse shows, county and state fairs, 4H meetings, meeting with saddle manufacturers individually and in their professional meeting.  Also, every opportunity is made to attend civic meetings and owner receptions as well as being interviewed by leading equine journals and media.  Typically it is the responsibility of the hosting organization to announce the event and encourage attendance.

Brochures and Flyers

Informational brochures and flyers are developed for distribution at central locations to communicate with horse owners.  They are positioned with like-minded veterinarians, saddle makers, horse shows, equine medical facilities, educational institutions and similar venues.

Public Service Announcements

The Institute endeavors to publish public service announcements in rural and "horse country" media stations.  Additionally, attempts are made to obtain interview spots on key agricultural and animal shows.

Equine Media Announcements

Institute programs and information are made available to Equiery and Equiculture, two of the leading publications in the field.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about this or any of our programs, please feel free to contact us or fill out our Educational Program Interest form and we'll contact you.
