The Horse Owner Education Program consists of a one day seminar that covers the basics of proper saddle fit.  Specific topics addressed are:
  • Why proper saddle fit is important for the horse.
  • Symptoms of improper saddle fit in horses.
  • Evaluating tack and saddle manufacturers’ products.
  • Temporary saddle adjustments owners can make.
  • Resources for learning more about saddle fit.
  • What the owner should tell their veterinarian when their horse has problems.
This program is designed to show horse owners where problems are being created by ill-fitting saddles.  The damage done to horses by an improperly fitting saddle is, in many cases, permanent.  Horse have the potential for being ridden well into their twenties, but are often unsound by their early teens.  Uneven pressure on the back from a poorly fitting saddle causes the leg problems that make a horse unserviceable.

Education in saddle design and saddle fit will allow horse owners to protect their investment and ride their equine partners, pain and stress free.  Not only will knowledgeable horse owners be able to prevent further damage to their horses, they will also be able to put pressure on the saddle makers for designs that work better for the horse.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about this or any of our programs, please feel free to contact us or fill out our Educational Program Interest form and we'll contact you.
