Contact Us

The Institute strives to create a greater awareness in the importance and techniques of proper saddle fit.  For this purpose we have developed four different educational programs, designed with three key audiences in mind.  These key audiences are: the equine owners, the recreational community, and the equine veterinarians.

Saddle Fit Apprenticeship
Public Awareness

The Institute has developed and uses a variety of educational materials for these programs.  Photographs of damaged horses are used for demonstration in the classroom.  Horses are used during the hands-on portion of the classes.  Various texts are used covering anatomy; the major text used is Understanding the Horses’ Back by Sara Wasche.

In the near future the Institute will be publishing About the Saddle and the Horse as its basic literature on the problems of saddle fit.  About the Saddle and the Horse was written by Prudence Heaney of Two Time Tack.  She has been working in the field of saddle fitting for fourteen years and works closely with a Master Saddler.
